We are in April and around us, at Care to Beauty, Eucerin products are “flying” off the shelves. Eucerin is our Brand of the Month and all the incredible products of this German brand are available with a beautiful discount of 30%.

Dedicating each month of the year to one of the brands with whom we work with, does not mean just offering a good discount on their products. It means much more than that… it implies dedicating time and care to promote the brand, to get to know it a little better, and to make it known to our customers, of course.

So, as part of this dive into the Eucerin universe, we challenged Maria João Lima, Marketing Pharma of Beiersdorf Portugal to a short interview, a unique format that allows us to feel a closer proximity to the brand and those who represent it.

Always busy and running from one side to the other, Maria João Lima cleared a space in her schedule to answer our (and your) questions.

C2B – How would you present Eucerin to someone who has never heard of the brand?

MJL – “Eucerin is a brand that dedicates all its expertise to the needs of our skin. Through the development of clinically proven dermo-cosmetic solutions, Eucerin products protect, repair and maintain balance for healthy, sustained skin for increased confidence and well-being.”

C2B – What distinguishes Eucerin from other brands?

MJL – “After the discovery of Eucerit, the basis of the medical ointment, by Paul C. Beiersdorf more than 100 years ago, a revolution in skin care began. Since then, the close collaboration of dermatological research and product development has remained to this day. C2B – What is the best advice we would give to someone who is now starting their “journey” into the Eucerin world?

C2B – What is, for Eucerin, the secret to healthy skin?

MJL – “The secret to good skin is, above all, in the products we select for our daily routine. If they are suitable for our skin type or condition, if we recognize in them the desired effectiveness, and if we like their texture. In the daily care routine, you can never miss a hygiene product, a moisturizing care product, and a sunscreen.

C2B – If I had to choose the star product of the brand, what would it be?

MJL – “Well, it’s very difficult to choose! The Top of Mind is Aquaphor, the repairing ointment that quickens the regeneration of extremely dry, battered or irritated skin, based on Eucerit. C2B – We know that Hyaluronic Acid and Urea are ingredients that are present in many of your formulas. Besides these, what other ingredients would you highlight?

MJL – “The secret is in the formula! We are not only distinguished by ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid of different molecular weights or Urea, but also by the way they are integrated into the formulation in order to achieve maximum effectiveness and visible results in a short time. Another excellent example is the way Hyaluron-Filler Vitamin C Booster has been formulated: this product is an extemporaneous preparation so that the consumer can enjoy the 10% Pure Vitamin C that, after preparation, is integrated into a low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid emulsion, at pH below physiological pH, allowing increased penetration of these anti-aging ingredients into the skin. In addition to these examples, I would highlight Thiamidol, an exclusive Beiersdorf patent. This ingredient is the first human tyrosinase-specific inhibitor and it is included in the Anti-Pigment range, the new range to take care of hyperpigmented skin, allowing visible results at the end of two weeks.

C2B – How can we summarize the essence/philosophy of the brand?
